Celts’ Brown done for season due to wrist injury

The Boston Celtics say forward Jaylen Brown will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn scapholunate ligament in his left wrist.

The injury, which was diagnosed over the weekend, is expected to require surgery later this week, according to the team.

It’s a massive blow to a Celtics team that entered Monday night in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, two games behind the sixth-place Heat and hoping to avoid the postseason play-in round.

Brown, a first-time All-Star this season, is averaging 24.7 poinys, 6.0 reounds and 3.4 assists, but he’s also battled injury, with a right ankle sprain causing him to miss three straight games in the last week.
