Clips’ George out vs. Celtics with swelling in foot

NBA

LOS ANGELES — LA Clippers guard Paul George was ruled out for Friday’s game against the Boston Celtics with swelling in a toe on his right foot.

George was added to the injury report on Friday afternoon. Clippers coach Ty Lue said he didn’t know how George suffered the injury or how long he could be out.

“We’re going to miss him,” Lue said. “Wish him a speedy recovery as we try to figure out [more about the injury]. … I’m not really sure when he started feeling it. I’m just hoping we get him back soon.”

The Celtics will be without Jaylen Brown, who was ruled out earlier Friday with left knee soreness.

George was coming off one of his best games of the season, draining 8 of 9 3-pointers and scoring 36 points in a win over Cleveland on Wednesday.
