Bucks lose 2nd-round pick for Bogdanovic talks

NBA

The Milwaukee Bucks have lost their 2022 second-round draft pick for violating rules governing the timing of this season’s free-agency discussions.

The decision was announced by the NBA after a thorough investigation regarding the Bucks’ failed sign-and-trade agreement to acquire Bogdan Bogdanovic.

The league found that the team had discussions with Bogdanovic and/or his agent before the date when free-agent discussions were allowed.

Ultimately, Bogdanovic signed with the Atlanta Hawks after the Bucks’ failed sign-and-trade agreement with the Sacramento Kings.

The NBA said it took into account that Milwaukee was cooperative throughout the investigation, that there was no evidence Milwaukee had reached an early contract agreement with Bogdanovic and that the Bucks did not acquire him before the penalty was imposed.
