UFC Fight Night loses 2 bouts due to COVID-19

Two fights from Saturday’s UFC Fight Night card in Las Vegas have been canceled after positive coronavirus tests, the UFC announced on Thursday. Another bout has been changed this week for an undisclosed reason.

On Thursday, Aiemann Zahabi announced on social media that he tested positive for COVID-19 prior to flying to Las Vegas and would not be able to compete in a scheduled bantamweight bout Saturday against Drako Rodriguez. No replacement will be found for Rodriguez and that bout has been called off.

Also canceled was a welterweight bout pitting Belal Muhammad and Dhiego Lima. Muhammad announced Tuesday on Twitter that he tested positive for COVID-19 and was out of the fight. A replacement will not be found for Lima.

In addition, Rick Glenn is out of a scheduled lightweight bout against Carlton Minus. No reason was given. Christos Giagos will step in to fight Minus at a 160-pound catchweight on Saturday.

UFC Fight Night is headlined by a pivotal welterweight matchup between Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson and Geoff Neal.
