Alabama’s Saban positive, out for Auburn game

NCAAF

Alabama coach Nick Saban has tested positive for COVID-19 and has mild symptoms of the virus, the university announced in a release Wednesday.

The positive test is expected to keep Saban from coaching in Saturday’s game against Auburn.

Saban previously tested positive for COVID-19 last month but was able to coach the Crimson Tide’s win over Georgia after three consecutive days of negative tests leading up to the game led to a determination that it was a false positive.

However, because Saban is symptomatic, “this test will not be categorized as a potential false positive,” team physicians Jimmy Robinson and Jeff Saban said in a statement.
