The long-awaited UFC debut of Timur Valiev will have to wait as the Dagestani featherweight was pulled from his fight against Jamall Emmers on Saturday, sources confirmed to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.
The news was first reported by MMA Junkie, which also reported that Vincent Cachero is being targeted as Valiev’s replacement.
Valiev, who competed in the World Series of Fighting and the PFL, is 16-2 and has won six straight.
Emmers was on a four-fight win streak until his UFC debut, a split-decision loss to Giga Chikadze on March 7.
