Roberson-Vettori dropped from Fight Night card

The middleweight bout between Karl Roberson vs. Marvin Vettori for Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night has been canceled after Roberson was forced to withdraw due to complications from a failed weight cut, sources told ESPN.

Roberson missed weight by 1 1/2 pounds Tuesday. Later in the evening, he fell ill and was transported to a local hospital, sources told ESPN, and he was discharged Wednesday morning but was deemed not medically fit to fight.

Both Roberson and Vettori have two-fight winning streaks.

The event, which will be headlined by Anthony Smith vs. Glover Teixeira, will now proceed with 10 fights.

The fight card takes place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. It will be televised by ESPN+. The main card begins at 9 p.m. ET, the prelims at 6 p.m.
