How to watch Duran-Leonard, Mayweather-Pacquiao and other classics on Cinco de Mayo

Boxing

With the coronavirus pandemic putting a halt to virtually all sporting events and holiday celebration around the world, the ESPN family plans to deliver with a big-name Cinco de Mayo boxing card of classic fights.

Beginning Tuesday, ESPN Deportes and Top Rank plan to commemorate what is traditionally one of the biggest days on the boxing calendar with a marathon of must-see fights packed with star power. The 30 classic bouts include names such as Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, Julio Cesar Chavez, Oscar de la Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and Vasiliy Lomachenko.

Hagler’s middleweight title bout against Duran in 1983 is on slate to answer the opening bell at 5 a.m. ET Tuesday. Duran highlights the next two fights on the schedule with his battles against Leonard and Davey Moore.

Cotto grabs the spotlight in the afternoon and for the rest of the day — with his fights against Ricardo Mayorga, Paul Malignaggi, Shane Mosley and Antonio Margarito (twice) setting the stage for his bout against Pacquiao. Pacman then carries the torch into Wednesday with the next eight main events, starting off with his much-anticipated face-off against Mayweather at midnight.

Pacquiao-De la Hoya at 8 a.m. passes the baton to the Golden Boy, who headlines the next six bouts before Mayweather-Jose Luis Castillo at 3 p.m. caps the marathon Wednesday afternoon.
